A recent update to Adobe Flash Player (126.96.36.1997) is preventing certain Dentrix and eServices features from functioning properly. Customers impacted by the update are receiving an error message that reads “Error HRESULT E-FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component” when printing treatment plans, opening the DXWeb Toolbar, using Questionnaire forms, and opening the Dentrix Launcher. Other areas of Dentrix and eServices are also affected.
Henry Schein Practice Solutions recommends that you DO NOT upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Flash Player until a corresponding update to Dentrix is available. The Dentrix team is currently working on a solution.
If your office has already upgraded to the latest version of Flash, please work with your hardware technician to downgrade to version 188.8.131.52. Here are the instructions for downgrading:
1. Uninstall Adobe Flash Player by clicking the following link and running the executable file.
2. Install the working version of Adobe Flash Player by downloading the following zip file and running the Windows Installer Package.
Note: You must choose “Notify” rather than “Auto” for the update settings. Otherwise, your Adobe Flash Player version will be automatically updated again.
